Ramesses IV

The third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty
Prenomen: Usermaatra setepenamun
Accession 1155 BC

Although his father, Ramses III, had been assassinated by conspirators who wanted to seize the throne for the son of a minor queen, the legitimate Crown Prince, Ramses IV, prevailed. He was probably around forty when he became king and began his reign by punishing those who had orchestrated his father's murder. He also initiated many large building projects.
