The fifth pharaoh of the Twenty-First Dynasty
Prenomen: Aakheperra
Also known as: Osorkon the Elder
Accession 992 BC
End of reign 986 BC
Duration 6 years
Osorkon, an ancient Meshwesh Libyan name, was Hellenised as Osochor in Manetho. His reign is completely unknown, except to herald the coming of the Libyan Twenty-second Dynasty. He is often referred to as Osorkon the Elder to distinguish him from the four Osorkons of the next dynasty, who had long since been assigned Roman numerals.
